Results are in from the 2011 Wake Forest National Early Bird Tournament, which is the first tournament in the 2011-2012 Extemp Central National Points Race.  The final round featured six extempers from four different states.  Jason Singh of Green Valley High School in Nevada was the winner, earning his first national circuit victory.  Singh will be the first leader of this year’s National Points Race, who’s breakdown and standings will be updated near the end of this week.  Joseph Calder of Cary Academy in North Carolina placed second.  Defending champion Isabelle Taft of Henry W. Grady High School in Georgia placed third.  All elimination round participants earned a qualification leg for the 2012 Extemporaneous Speaking Tournament of Champions.
