This R&D provides resources on Google Glass, a wearable computer that is in development from Google X and will roll out on the retail market this year. The product began testing in 2012, but it has aroused concerns among privacy advocates and those concerned with public safety. Some major cities like San Francisco have begun enacting broad bans on where the devices cannot be used and private establishments are also working to ban the use of the device. Google has invested money in lobbying groups to persuade state legislatures not to enact driving bans for those wearing Google Glass as well.
